I’d still need to review the wedding planning plus a full travel vlog once I’m back in England. Have you checked out my Abuja blogpost? So in a bid to give our friends from Germany and sister inlaw final Naija trips we decided to visit La Campagne Tropicana. My elder brother has visited an has good words and to be honest I don’t know about any other resorts in Lagos.
Known for its unique mix of the Nigerian culture and elegance, La Campagne Tropicana is located in Ikegun, Ibeju – Lekki, Epe, Lagos, Nigeria. Hours are between 8am – 10pm. Tel:- +2348052225226. Gate Fee:- ₦5,000 (£12).
On Tuesday 11th Dec all 8 of us left from the mainland, picked Ify up from Lekki phase 1 and continued our 3-hour journey to Ibeju-Lekki in 2 cars.
(You can get a taxi (Uber or Taxify) from wherever you are in Lagos to this resort. Could cost about ₦8,000 – ₦10,000 from the airport.)
We had to pay ₦5,000 each to enter. They asked if we had food & drinks though (we didn’t). They also warned me against using my camera as only phone cameras were allowed.
Kayaking, Bicycling, Food, Chalets, Horse-Riding, Quad bikes, Family Jet Ski, Boat Cruise, Football, General Pool, Beach Soccer, Water Volleyball, Horse Riding, Swings, African Pool, Gym etc are all paid.
—> Oba Ilerigi (simple) – ₦100,000.00 per night
—> Oba Ilerigi – ₦150,000.00 per night
both have:- 2 Adults + Breakfast | Private Swinming Pool | Private SPA | Tea & Coffee
—> Oba Ilerigi (3-Bedroom) – ₦250,000.00
this has:- 4 Adult 2 Kids | Breakfast | Private Swinming Pool | Body Massage | Tea & Coffee | Fruit Basket | Water and Soft Drinks
Others are Amosan, Obieze, Ilerimi, Oso, Laba, Kodi and Executive Kodi.
The menu had a good selection though with no prices beside the meals. Our hunger made us forget to ask. We were advised a 45 minute wait time but for 6 people, food was served in 1 hour 30 minutes and for the other 3 of us, in 2 hours.
This was frustrating as they didn’t even know to apologise.
All in all, the food tasted good. For the bill, a piece of oaoet with a figure was sent with no breakdown. We demanded they broke this down. Total for all 9 of us was ₦49,500.00. The bottles of water were complimentary. The coconuts we were promised never came.
The location was so beautiful. A couple of us swam in the pool. The waves were strong so we just played around the shore. We took lots of photos.
Being there on a Tuesday was actually really nice as the place was void of people. We were informed that as from 20th December, the location was fully booked. The toilets were clean.
You should pay a visit to La Campagne Tropicana with friends though I’d advise you either come really really early or you plan to spend the night in a chalet (it’s about 2 hours 20 minutes from Lekki Phase 1).
