The Children’s Society Charity Haul #HighStreet #London

Hi guys,

Recently got the opportunity to work with a goodwill store and of course I totally loved it.

In 1881, a new organisation was registered as the Church of England Central Society for Providing Homes for Waifs and Strays.

It kept this name until 1946, when the title was changed to the Church of England Children’s Society; and since the 1980s it has been known as The Children’s Society.

I choose the West Hampstead store due to proximity for me and was given a time a slot on the day I’d chosen. Got to the store, did some shopping, made my videos and took the photos below..

The Children’s Society was founded in the late nineteenth century by Edward Rudolf, a Sunday School teacher and civil servant in South London.

Rudolf led a deputation to Archibald Tait, Archbishop of Canterbury to put forward a plan for the establishment of Church of England children’s homes as an alternative to the large workhouses and orphanages common at that time.

The mentioned items formed a part of my purchase that day (Thursday). As I stated in the video, their stock usually consist of high-earned designer items and high street pieces all in very great condition and sometimes new with tags.

Other ways to support this charity is by volunteering your time to working with them, donating unwanted goods (these could be worth lots more if you are a tax payer in the U.K., finally by actually making purchases of their stock.

Remain blessed

Xxox.
