Happy Anniversary Metrogypsie

Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈🎊 to you as we are a   year older. 5 years ago this blog started out as an outlet to inspire the working lady and gent style-wise. The hashtag we coined ‘#ladyonhergrind’ has been used over 10,000 times on instagram. Other hashtags like #MGTravelSAN, #MGTravelParis #TMHowTo, #MayreeMetro, #MGTravel6 can be searched to find collaborations and travel we remembered keep track of.

As at today we have diversified into retail (sustainable), food, photography, styling – all these have individual pages which would be shared sometime in the future. This past year we have encountered major hitches with our YouTube management which resulted in a shut down of the channel and a re-opening Of a new one in August 2017 (11th). Apple Records’ creative director Kosh designed the cover. It is the only original UK Beatles album sleeve to show neither the artist name nor the album title on its front cover, which was Kosh’s idea, despite EMI claiming the record would not sell without this information.

He later explained “we didn’t need to write the band’s name on the cover. They were the most famous band in the world”

In the scene, the group walk across the street in single file from left to right, with John Lennon leading, followed by Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison.

Apart from Harrison, the group are wearing suits designed by Tommy Nutter left of the picture, parked next to the zebra crossing, is a white Volkswagen Beetle motor-car which belonged to one of the people living in the block of flats across from the recording studio.

After the album was released, the number plate, (LMW 281F) was stolen repeatedly from the car. In 1986, the car was sold at auction for £2,53 0.and in 2001 was on display in a museum in Germany. The man standing on the pavement to the right of the picture is Paul Cole,] an American tourist unaware he had been photographed until he saw the album cover months later.

Carrie Bradshaw is the literal voice of the show, as each episode is structured around her train of thought while writing her weekly column, “Sex and the City”, for The New York Star. A shoe fetishist, she focuses most of her attention and finances on designer footwear, primarily Manolo Blahniks, though she has been known to wear Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo.

Charlotte York is an art dealer and graduate of Smith College with a wealthy Connecticut blue-blooded upbringing. She is the most conservative and traditional of the group, the one who places the most emphasis on emotional love as opposed to lust, and is always searching for her “knight in shining armor”. As the youngest of the group, she is also the most idealistic about romance and love.

Miranda Hobb is a career-minded lawyer with extremely cynical views on relationships and men. A Harvard University graduate from Philadelphia, she is Carrie’s confidante and voice of reason. In the early seasons, she is portrayed as masculine and borderline misandric, but this image softens over the years, particularly after she becomes pregnant by her on again-off again boyfriend, Steve Brady, whom she eventually marries.

Samantha Jones the oldest by far of the group, is an independent publicist and a seductress who avoids emotional involvement at all costs, while satisfying every possible carnal desire imaginable. Over the course of the show, she does have a handful of real relationships, but they are more unconventional than those of her friends, including a lesbian relationship with Brazilian painter played by Sonia Braga.
